Well girls, the time is upon us. Time to start thinking about 2016 and all it has to offer. The thing about new years is that they bring about new goals, new ideas and new ideals. We look upon the year that has been with all its ups and downs and plan out a better plan, or celebrate the one that worked out the way we wanted.

Years are funny like that. Sometimes we have great ones, and sometimes we just can’t wait until they are over. But I am here to tell you that no matter what, be thankful, because in every moment comes lessons and we can learn from them.

2015 personally, for me, has been one of the hardest. I had two devastating injuries training for dream races and my big goals had to be put aside for another year. I still look back and cringe when I realise just how bad my injuries were, and yet, I still managed to secure two half marathons and one 50k ultra on the 2015 medal hanger, and a half marathon and 10k PB to boot! I have enjoyed many races on the sidelines cheering on my fellow RMA when I couldn’t run, and many social runs leaning in to learn from those that can.

I am thankful for everything that has come my way this year, good and bad, because it has helped me to grow into the person that I want to be.

I now know what I need to make my 2016 a bright happy year full of fulfilment and chase all of its promises.
